From the looks of it, it might not slide all the way up to your forward-most slot, but the fact that the buttons are on the side of the unit will allow you to butt the magnifier mount right up to the back of the sight, which may create enough room. If all else fails, I'd buy everything from a vendor with a good return policy so you're not stuck with something if it doesn't work.

Rifle Stocks

10/22 accessories

The newest commercial rimfire, the 10/22 accessories, is based on the .22 LR case, but is slightly stretched in length (case length is similar to the CCI Stinger) and necked down. The light, aerodynamic .17 caliber (4.5 mm) bullet gives a much higher velocity than the .22 LR, for similar energy and a much flatter trajectory, but at the expense of increased cost and noise.

As a hunting cartridge, the .22 LR is mainly used to kill small vermin such as rats and squirrels. It is also highly effective on rabbits at distances closer than 150 meters and on ground hogs, marmots, and 10/22 accessories closer than 80 meters. It has been successfully used on large creatures such as coyotes, but range should be limited to no farther than 65 meters, head and chest shots are mandatory with the most powerful and accurate .22 cartridge the hunter can use accurately. The hunter would best find what cartridge out of the various high velocity and hyper velocity shoots well for him by preliminary testing. For greater range or larger game, a more powerful cartridge should be used to ensure a clean kill. Examples include larger rimfire rounds such as the .22 WMR, .17 HMR, or any centrefire cartridge. Like any bullet, the .22 LR is nonetheless dangerous and capable of killing humans and large animals at close range.

AR-10

The gas system, bolt carrier, and bolt-locking AR-10 was novel for its day. Most gas-operated rifles divert combustion gas from a port in the barrel to a piston and cylinder arrangement adjacent to the port. In Stoner's design the gas travels from a port near the middle of the barrel through a steel tube back into the receiver. The gas enters a chamber formed between the rear of the bolt and the inside of the bolt carrier, which has a built-in gas cutoff. This use of the bolt and bolt carrier for the separate actions of a piston and gas cylinder simplified construction and saved weight. Movement of the bolt carrier was in-line with the bore, greatly improving inherent accuracy, as well as keeping the rifle on target as the gun fired. Since the straight-line stock placed the shooter's eye well above the barrel the rifle's sights were mounted high, with the rear sight contained in a carrying handle that also protected the cocking/charging lever.

• STEP 1: Jettison the most common (and most frustrating) fallacy that a scuba tank holds pure oxygen. It is filled with compressed air, which is roughly 21 percent oxygen and 79 percent nitrogen ' the same mixture we breathe (almost) every second on land. Pure oxygen can be toxic when breathed at relatively shallow depths. Compressed air, however, can be toxic at depths greater than 200 feet (far beyond the reaches of recreational diving).
• STEP 2: Note that the most common recreational scuba tank is made of aluminum and holds 80 cubic feet of air, compressed into an area 2 feet high and half a foot in diameter.
• STEP 3: Know that "an 80" is usually filled from 2000 to 3000 psi ' pounds per square inch ' of air pressure.
• STEP 4: Understand that scuba tanks are regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation and other similar foreign Surefire. Regulations require that tanks undergo periodic visual inspections and pressure tests.

Many .22 LR cartridges use bullets lighter than the standard 40 grains (2.6 g), fired at even higher velocities. The CCI Stinger was the first "hyper velocity" .22 LR cartridge, and provides a significant increase in velocity over standard .22 LR rounds. The Stinger uses a longer case, a stronger charge and copper plating on a lighter Ruger 10/22 stock. The case is longer than that of the normal Long Rifle cartridge, yet Stingers will fit in most Long Rifle chambered firearms. The powder is designed to burn more slowly and thus make the most use of the length of a rifle barrel. In the Stinger the extra case length is compensated by a shorter bullet, which is only available as a Ruger 10/22 stock. The thin copper layer on the bullet functions as a lubricant and reduces the friction between the high velocity bullet and the barrel, thus reducing barrel wear. It also has an oxidation-preventing effect on the lead bullet. Lead tends to oxidise if stored over long periods of time and as a result of this, the bullet's diameter increases to a level that might both prevent the insertion of the cartridge in the chamber and might cause the pressure in the barrel to rise to a dangerously high level. The increase in pressure may lead to the case rupturing and potential danger to the shooter. Standard and subsonic cartridges tend to use a type of wax for the same purpose.
